What to See at Angkor Silk Farm
The Mulberry Groves and Silkworms
The tour opens in the mulberry plantation that feeds the farm’s silkworms, then moves through the rearing house where silkworms spin their cocoons — the starting point for every metre of Khmer silk produced on site.
The Dyeing and Weaving Workshops
Natural dyes are still used for much of the farm’s output, and the ikat (“hol”) technique — tying and dyeing thread in patterns before it’s woven — is demonstrated by hand. The weaving hall itself, lined with traditional wooden looms, is the visual highlight: weavers working patterns that take weeks to complete a single garment’s worth of cloth.
The Boutique
A shop on site sells the farm’s silk scarves, garments, and homeware — proceeds support Artisans Angkor’s vocational training programme for rural Cambodian youth aged 18–25.
How to Get to Angkor Silk Farm
The farm is on National Road 6 in Puok district, about a 30-minute drive from central Siem Reap.
