What to See at Bou Sra Waterfall
The First Tier
Bou Sra’s lower, most accessible tier drops roughly 10 metres across a wide rock face — best appreciated from a suspension bridge built directly opposite, putting visitors face-on with the full width of the cascade.
The Upper Tiers
A path leads up to a second, taller tier further into the forest; a reported third tier exists further still but is largely inaccessible to casual visitors. Most people stop at the first two, which are themselves the highlight.
Bunong Highland Setting
The falls sit in territory traditionally inhabited by the Bunong people, Mondulkiri’s indigenous highland community — small stalls near the entrance often sell local produce and handicrafts alongside the standard waterfall-visit amenities.
How to Get to Bou Sra Waterfall
Bou Sra is around 43km northeast of Sen Monorom.
- By motorbike: A popular self-drive option, around 1.5–2 hours each way on a part-paved, part-dirt road
- By tuk-tuk or car: Easily arranged through any Sen Monorom guesthouse, often combined with a Bunong village stop en route
Best Time to Visit
Visit between October and December for the falls at maximum volume, just after the wet season ends. By March–April, in the depths of the dry season, the flow can thin out considerably.
