What to See at Daughters of Cambodia
The Café
Sugar & Spice Garden Café serves espresso coffee, all-day brunch, soups, salads and sandwiches — all prepared and served by trainees and graduates of the Daughters of Cambodia programme. The chocolate fudge brownies are something of a minor local legend.
The Visitor Centre
The café sits above and alongside the Daughters of Cambodia Visitor Centre on Street 178, which also houses a boutique selling clothing and jewellery made by the women in the programme, and a spa offering massage and beauty treatments — both staffed the same way.
The Mission
Founded in 2007 by psychologist Ruth Elliott, Daughters of Cambodia now employs around 200 people across its businesses, with a reported 98% success rate helping participants permanently exit the sex industry. Spending here funds vocational training, daycare, counselling and medical care directly.
